RICS Award Winners 2018

We are very proud that two of our projects, Stockport Exchange and Timekeepers Square won their categories at the North West RICS Awards held in Manchester last week.

Stockport Exchange RICS Award Winners 2018Stockport Exchange

Stockport Exchange, Phase 2, which our client Muse developed in partnership with Stockport Council, won the Commercial category. “RICS judges said the buildings have rejuvenated a tired and under-used leisure scheme into an attractive and vibrant new commercial quarter, and brought employment to over 250 people.”

Timekeepers Square, the second residential development in the area from the English Cities Fund – a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General and Homes England, won the Residential category. “RICS judges said the success of the scheme – which has acted as a catalyst for the next phase of residential development in the area – and the positive response from residents and prospective homeowners, is testament to the collaborative project team.”

Ronald McDonald House Charities provide free ‘home away from home’ accommodation at specialist children’s hospitals across the UK, enabling families to stay close to their child and maintain a degree of normal family life. Over the last 29 years they have helped tens of thousands of families during some of the toughest periods in their lives. There are currently 14 Ronald McDonald Houses across the UK, all just moments away from their respective children’s wards, with plans for further developments well under-way.

Timekeepers Square wins Civic Trust Award

Timekeepers Square wins Civic Trust Award

Our client The English Cities Fund established by leading regeneration and investment organisations Homes England, Legal & General and Muse Developments, have won a prestigious Civic Trust National Award for its Timekeepers Square scheme in Salford.

The new development scheme was selected as one of just 18 winners from a shortlist of 45 finalists from across the globe. The recent win marks the third award for the development after previously winning small housing development of the year at the 2018 Insider North West Property Awards, and an award for best multiple rental (Built) at the 2017 Manchester Society of Architects Awards.

The scheme was designed by Buttress Architects as a contemporary reinterpretation of the area’s existing Georgian houses, and consists of three blocks of 36 two, three and four-bedroom townhouses. Each of the terraces have been set out to re-establish the historic urban grain of the area, focusing on the architectural and urban focal point of the adjacent Grade II* listed St Phillips Church, while also serving to define a new communal courtyard at the heart of the development.

Timekeepers Square is the second of three residential developments in the area from the English Cities Fund alongside Vimto Gardens and Carpino Place, that form part of the wider Salford Central regeneration scheme. We are proud to have been on the project team for all three of the successful developments and congratulate all those involved on another deserving awards win.
