PROJECT OVERVIEW

The 26-acre Central Docks neighbourhood is the largest of five neighbourhoods that form the emerging Liverpool Waters district. Previously a derelict site, the Central Docks neighbourhood will include around 2,350 new homes with a mix of affordable, elderly, build-to-rent and open market, supporting the Government’s plans to build 1.5 million new homes across the UK in the next four years.

The focal point of the new neighbourhood will be Central Park, a 4.7 acre park, which will be one of the largest green spaces in the city and a vital part of Liverpool Waters. Plans for the park include planting thousands of trees, community gardens, play areas as well as spaces for sports and recreation and support for wildlife.

GRAHAM have been appointed by Peel Waters to deliver the essential infrastructure works and construction of Central Park.

Peel Waters, in partnership with Homes England and Liverpool City Council, celebrated the official groundbreaking of Central Docks, alongside the rest of the project team, civic leaders and students from the newly opened City of Liverpool College Construction Academy, located within the Central Docks development zone, on 14th October 2025.

Hannan Associates are providing Utilities Infrastructure and Building Services Engineering support for the park including……

o Establishing plant space requirements

o Utility supply applications for park utility services

o Lighting design and CCTV coordination

o Park containment routing for power, lighting, data and water irrigation system

o Pop up power, wireless network, and interactive help points consideration

o Park Pavilion M&E proposals

These essential infrastructure works will support the delivery of thousands of new homes, commercial, retail and leisure space within the Central Docks district over the next ten years, in line with the Liverpool Waters Central Docks Neighbourhood Masterplan.
